Braden is a skilled diplomat! He was an intelligence officer,
and served as an advisor to three allied governments during his
career in the United States Army.
Braden takes these diplomatic skills to the negotiating table.
Braden is opposed to grid lock, and believes a moderate position
can be reached that will be acceptable to the majority.
Braden contends that we must preserve Medicare, Medicaid, student
loans, and a more effective welfare system, in order to meet our
responsibilities toward the young, old, disabled and helpless.
Braden does not believe that simply throwing money at problems is
the way to solve them. He believes the money must be spent wisely,
and with sensitive concern for the taxpayer.
Braden is a listener. As your representative, he will vote for you
in Congress. He invites dialogue!
Braden is underfunded in his campaign. He invites your responses via
FAX (1 916 895 1911) or e-mail (Braden96@aol.com) for a dialogue
which might lead to your financial support.
A short statement from the candidate:
"This election is about gridlock, extremism, partisan politics, and fiscal responsibility. This election is about choosing a Congress that will solve problems, not create them. I will work for legislation that prevents extremists from closing our government ever again. The incumbent's only record of note is that he blindly followed the partisan lead of the extremist Republican leadership. My experience is as a leader, not a follower, and I bring a background in education, military affairs, and diplomacy to the job. My beliefs are rooted in real human values and I will fight to stop the extreme assults on children, students, the elderly and working families."
